Rebuttal to Viral Video on Social Media Regarding SKIMS

The SKIMS administration has taken serious note of the recently surfaced viral video on social media concerning patient care at our institution. While we acknowledge and respect the right of the public to express concerns, we also emphasize our steadfast commitment to improving patient care and addressing any issues promptly and transparently.

Immediate Action Taken
Upon learning about the video, the SKIMS administration immediately initiated an urgent inquiry by a highly professional committee to investigate the matter. This reflects our unwavering resolve to uphold accountability and ensure that any instances of negligence, if found or proven through the inquiry, are addressed with zero tolerance.

Commitment to Patient Care
SKIMS has always been dedicated to serving patients and the community with the highest standards of care and accountability. Our focus remains on fostering a safe and healing environment for our patients while continuously striving for improvement. Constructive feedback is always welcome and plays a vital role in helping us refine our services.

Privacy and Discipline in Healthcare Settings
We appeal to the public to refrain from engaging in video recording or photography inside patient treatment areas. Such activities not only breach the privacy and dignity of patients but also create unwarranted misperceptions about our institution, including our hardworking and dedicated staff.

SKIMS, as a custodian of patient care, recognizes that shortcomings may occasionally arise. However, there are official channels available for addressing grievances, which ensure that concerns are handled appropriately and professionally. The circulation of videos or pictures from within patient care areas on social media undermines our collective responsibility to maintain trust in the patient-doctor relationship and the institution itself.
A Call for Cooperation
We urge the community to cooperate in maintaining discipline and respect within healthcare facilities. By working together, we can restore and reinforce trust in SKIMS and strengthen our shared goal of providing the best possible care to patients.
SKIMS administration remains committed to its vision of excellence and accountability in healthcare and appreciates the continued support and understanding of the public in this mission.
